Consultation Rooms
Both
vets and nurses have their own consultation rooms where routine treatments
such as vaccinations can take place. You can also discuss in private any
concerns you may have about your pet. Initial clinical examinations or assessments
of their health problem can
be carried out and established, before
deciding if treatment or further
investigations are required.
Wards
Should your pets require hospitalisation, you can feel confident they are safe and well cared for during their post-operative, treatment or recovery period. In the ward, we operate feliway and dap diffusers, to help de-stress inpatients from the time they enter this environment. To provide safety and comfort, our ward houses separate kennels, none of which over look each other. We try to ensure nursing continuity while your pet is away from home, so your pet receives that special care, attention and gentle reassurance by the same member of staff from admittance to discharge. For our sensitive feline friends, we offer them a cat only day.
Fully
Equipped
Operating Theatre
If your pet should require routine or emergency surgery, our sterile theatre houses a complete range of equipment for a comprehensive range of surgical procedures, and also has a separate piped anaesthetic system.
Pharmacy
We stock a wide range of medical and routine health care products for your
pet and any product not in store, can be ordered to arrive the following
day.
Prescription Diets For some pets, it is necessary for the vet to prescribe a special diet to help with a particular condition they may have such as arthritis, obesity, intestinal sensitivities, organ dysfunction, food allergies or skin disorders.
If your pet is on a prescribed diet or regular medication and requires further supplies, please call our veterinary clinic, where a member of staff will be able to assist you.
Prep Room
This allows us to fully prepare your pet for their treatment before going into theatre, and provides a safe location to monitor their initial recovery period from the anaesthetic after surgery. It houses a portable anaesthetic machine and is also equipped to carry out routine dental procedures.
Reception and Waiting Room
Our friendly and experienced staff will greet you at our front desk, and provide a high level of client service. Whether you are arriving for an appointment, collecting your pet, ordering medication or just have a query, you can be assured of their best attention at all times. To ease stress for pets and our clients, there are separate dog and cat waiting areas within our reception.
X-Ray
Unit
We provide our
patients with a totally contained room for taking images of their skeletal
structure. There are many reasons as to why we may need to x-ray your pet.
They could have been involved in a road traffic accident or had a fall,
and a fractured bone is suspected.
X-rays also enable
us to see arthritis, cruciate problems or the rather unusual objects that
pets sometimes swallow. In some cases, sedation of the patient may be necessary
depending on the type of x-ray.
Ultrasound
Our portable
Ultrasound Scanner, shows us the inside of your pets body as it
is actually functioning, and allows us to see in detail, the organs and
soft tissue. This assists the vets in a quick, precise diagnosis, enabling
them to prescribe accurate treatment or medication.
Ultrasound is painless, non-invasive
and sedation
is not usually required.

Routine
Vaccinations
Vaccinating
your pet and regular boosters, help to protect them against infectious disease.
It also provides an opportunity for the vet to carry out a full health check,
and chat about your pets general condition. Happily most pets go home
with wet noses and wagging tails, and for their owners, peace of mind that
their much-loved pet is in good health.
Routine
Healthcare
Maintaining
your pets regular flea, tick and worming treatments is very important,
as these irritating parasites can cause major skin irritation and health
problems if not dealt with. If you are unsure which product or how to use
them, our nurses and vets are only too happy to discuss, which type would
be suitable for your pet.
So for puppies, their
primary vaccination course starts at 8 weeks old, covered by two injections,
two weeks apart and the cost includes
-
Full health check by a vet, and a free six month
check too.
Free flea and worming treatments
4 weeks free pet insurance
A goody bag worth £15
25% discount off neutering
Kittens also benefit from the same package, however their primary course
begins at 9 weeks old and injections are
three weeks apart. The yearly booster vaccination for all pets, also includes
a full health check. We offer protection against
Kennel Cough too, and at a reduced cost
if given at the same time as either the primary and booster stages. This
is recommended for dogs that are attending puppy classes, walked where close
contact with other dogs is common or are to spend time in kennels.

Dental Care
Bad teeth can lead to gum disease, smelly breath and eventual loss of teeth, so your pets need to keep their teeth and gums in good condition. Regular brushing and care can help to prevent the build up of plaque, which causes oral disease. However, pets do have a bit of trouble when it comes to holding the toothbrush! So our nurses can show you how to clean your pet's teeth, to help keep all in tip-top condition. They also provide FREE regular dental checks for dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. A de-scale and polish to remove plaque can be done if necessary, and signs of other dental problems arising, can be treated sooner rather than later.
Joining our special
club is an excellent way to budget for your pets routine care. Our
lifetime preventative healthcare scheme not only spreads the cost of routine
treatments such as vaccinations and worming, but also ensures that this
important preventative care is maintained at regular intervals, helping
your pet to stay healthy. In addition, members will benefit from great discounts
on medication, food, products and services. Your pet is welcome to join
at any age, and no health check is required to become a member.

Microchipping
This permanent means of identification, helps reunite lost pets with their owners. A tiny chip, which has an I.D. code unique to you and your pet, is injected under their skin. It holds details that are stored on a central database, which is accessible 24 hours a day. Scanners are held by various rescue centres, dog wardens and veterinary practices, and used to read the details to identify the lost animal. This service is available at any stage in your pet's life, and its as simple as having your pet vaccinated. Just a routine appointment is required however, great savings on cost can be made if microchipping is carried out at the time of the primary vaccination, neutering or during other procedures.
PETS Passport
If you are considering taking your pet abroad for the first time, it is quite simple to prepare your pet for travel to obtain the necessary document. We are here to help you both through the process. You will need to allow 21 days from microchipping and the rabies vaccination before reentry into the UK, so depending on your own personal travel plans, please take this into consideration before embarking on your travels. For more information, please call our surgery.

virus in rabbits. It causes swellings around the face, eyes, ears, and mouth,
affecting their ability to eat, drink and see. Protection can also be given
for Haemorrhagic Viral disease.
