Debbie
Ross VN Head Veterinary
Nurse
At just five years old, Debbie knew then that she wanted to work
with animals, and at the time her favourite pet, a giant schnauzer Nova
(named after a car!), gave her some early experience of animal care. On
leaving school, she joined our surgery at Milnathort to begin her career
in the veterinary world. Studying at Telford College and also with hands
on training at our practice, she qualified as a Veterinary Nurse
in 2003. She enjoys all aspects of her job, in particular the variety,
as when working with animals, no two days are ever the same. Pets at home
are Bob a ten-year-old collie cross and three snowshoe cats Obie, Annie
and Chunk. It also looks like the caring nature for animals runs in the
family, as her son is an animal lover too. When Debbies not busy
being a nurse and a mum, she enjoys horse riding, shopping and socializing
with friends and family.
Married to Dan who is a dairy farmer, she has three children aged between 8-16 and all with many hobbies, so life in general is a very busy one. However, when personal relaxation time does kick in, she enjoys working out, the local shoot, current affairs programmes and reading. Pets at home are well . really three 'supposedly working' dogs! A Labrador, Border Collie and Spaniel.
Michelle
Silvera BVMS MRCVS Partner & Veterinary Surgeon
With
a great love of the outdoors and also growing up on a local animal farm,
becoming a vet was a natural progression for Michelle. She qualified from
Glasgow University in 2002, and joined our team here in 2003. With a six-month
break from her routine career at Cameron and Greig, Michelle travelled to
Bermuda and applied her knowledge to the care of small animals over there,
along with some equine work too. Michelle became a practice partner in September
2011. She has
three dogs, Mitch a 14-year-old Jack Russell and Border Terriers Roxy and
Brillo.
Hobbies include, the winter
sport of curling, pilates,
scuba diving and she
enjoys taking
holidays abroad.
However, Erin really does enjoy the variety of her job and now with the new practice software, has just added a new 'hat' to her collection as she seems to be the only one who can solve and fix all its problems, - which secretly she loves!Married, and with one daughter Eve who was born in 2006, Erin enjoys cooking for friends and family along with a spot of wine tasting. Dogs at home are mum and daughter mini daschunds, Smartie and Foggy, and on her pet wish list is a .micropig!
Erin
Cunningham Practice Manager
Erin, so we have been told, is a bit of a 'homebird', so when a job became
available at the local veterinary practice in 1996, not only did this seem
like an interesting place to work, but was also right on her doorstep! Since
then Erin, who is our longest serving member of staff, has devoted her working
time to Cameron and Greig, ensuring that the practices in general run smoothly.
This, as you can imagine, involves many 'working hats' to be worn! Book
keeper, payroll clerk, organisation of the large animal diary, stock control,
along with being a personal assistant to all the vets, her days are pretty
hectic.
Living locally, he has two cats, a horse and George's seven Labradors compete
with him in field trials. Champions are Pup, Oak and Abbie; Adder and Jet
have cups to their names, and Hudson is a Field Trial Winner! In fact George
and his dogs have
represented Scotland
many times in Gundog Internationals.
When a little quiet
'time out' is required,
he enjoys a sedate
spot of fishing.
George
Greig BVM&S MRCVS Partner & Veterinary
Surgeon
The Greig side of our partnership, qualified from Edinburgh University in
1977. Since joining the practice in 1981, George has seen many changes over
the past thirty years in the advancement of veterinary care. He has used
this to provide a high level of animal care, and his future goals are to
continue improving the practice in the years ahead, so as to maintain this
service to the community. Being a vet brings something new every day and
George very much enjoys the variety of his career, whether in the fields
of the countryside or here in the practice.
Seen here with pet boxer Maisie, Iain lives locally, and has two children. A son who is a chemical engineer, and his daughter, a scientist within the commercial bioscience field. For leisure and entertainment he's a bit of a sporting man, as he enjoys golf and rugby.
Iain Cameron BVMS MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon
Iain qualified
from Glasgow University in 1975, and is the 'Cameron' side to this veterinary
partnership. He joined the surgery in 1976, and greatly enjoys the variety
of work with the different species of animals that each day brings. Iain
has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience over the years, and looks
ahead to the continuing improvement of the practices' technology and facilities.
Clare
Montgomery BVMS MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon
With
a veterinary career set in her mind for many years, Clare qualified In June
2012, from University of Glasgow, and gained further animal care experience
on the other side of the world, working for a small animal practice in Tauranga,
Bay of Plenty in New Zealand. Joining us in May 2014, she really enjoys
the variety of work within a mixed practice, particularly the practical
and surgical aspects. Future plans are to gain further qualifications in
the veterinary field, and one day to have her own practice.
At her parents home in Northern Ireland, animals are well and truly part
of Clare's life too, as five dogs, the horses, Paddy and Lilly who is
a retired amateur
show jumper, plus the two cats Willow
and George, all look forward to her
visits
back home.
For relaxation, Clare
enjoys keeping fit with
the outdoor sporting
life of hockey, and
has joined the Perth
Triathlon Club.
In addition she likes
horse riding, walking,
surfing and a good
night out!
Nichelle Clunie Receptionist
There
is never a dull moment for a veterinary receptionist. Telephones ringing,
clients to help, dogs barking, consultation rooms to prepare, vets to assist
and Nichelle, took on this busy position with us in summer 2009. She had
always wanted to work with animals, so it is not surprising that her favourite
part of the job is the actual 'hands on' care that is sometimes required,
and she is now considering taking nursing exams.
She has three dogs at home, border
collies Gypsy and Echo, plus a
deerhound called Yulla.
Hobbies
are walking,
swimming and 200 tours.
Michelle joined our team here in September 2013, and greatly enjoys the interaction with our clients and working on challenging or new cases. Her qualifying year took her abroad to Morocco, where she worked for Help the Street Animals of Morocco on their cat neutering scheme.
Michelle
Cooper BVMS MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon
Qualifying
from Glasgow University in 2010, Michelle has a keen interest in many
aspects of farm animal practice particularly health planning, preventative
care and surgery. Further qualifications planned for the future are
focused on a Certificate in Farm Animal Medicine/Management.
