Lynn
Ballantyne VN Veterinary Nurse
For
Lynn, animals played a big part in her childhood, and she had lots of
them; dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, ponies, sheep, ducks, and a hen! With
all these creatures from the animal world around her, she decided that
working with animals would be the career for her. In 1986, Lynn began
at a practice in Kinross as the start pointing in vet nursing. After studies
and training, she qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in January 1993, joining
Cameron and Greig in 2003. She likes all aspects of her job and hopes
to continue enjoying the variety in animal care that each day brings.
Outside of her career, animals still play an important role in her life,
as during the months of September until January, she spends two or three
days a week 'picking up' on shoots with her gundogs, Labradors Litza,
Becky, Midas, and Dipper.
Other months of the year are filled, as from February to August, Lynn is a coach and lunger for Kinross Vaulting Group (gymnastics on horseback), and so spends many hours a week lunging horses. With more pets at home to care for Bo-Bo the cat, three goldfish, two budgies Splash and Drift, along with three ponies Smudge, Rory and Miracle, you could say there's never a dull moment on any day of the year for Lynn!
Michelle

a great love of the outdoors and also growing up on a local animal farm,
becoming a vet was a natural progression for Michelle. She qualified from
Glasgow University in 2002, and joined our team here in 2003. With a six-month
break from her routine career at Cameron and Greig, Michelle travelled to
Bermuda and applied her knowledge to the care of small animals over there,
along with some equine work too. Michelle became a practice partner in September
2011. She
has
three dogs, Mitch a 14-year-old Jack Russell and Border Terriers Roxy and
Brillo.

The Greig side of our partnership, qualified from Edinburgh University in
1977. Since joining the practice in 1981, George has seen many changes over
the past thirty years in the advancement of veterinary care. He has used
this to provide a high level of animal care, and his future goals are to
continue improving the practice in the years ahead, so as to maintain this
service to the community. Being a vet brings something new every day and
George very much enjoys the variety of his career, whether in the fields
of the countryside or here in the practice.
Living
locally, he has two cats, a horse and George's seven Labradors compete with
him in field trials. Champions are Pup, Oak and Abbie; Adder and Jet have
cups to their names, and Hudson is a Field Trial Winner! In fact George
and his dogs have
represented Scotland
many times in Gundog Internationals.
When a little quiet
'time out' is required,
he enjoys a sedate
spot of fishing.
